Yesterday, #TeamKembara was invited to the launching of the next initiative to provide humanitarian aid to 🇵🇸 at Wisma Putra.
Amongst the NGOs & organisations there with their booths, ours looked the simplest. Just a small bunting, 2 x A4 sized documents & samples of the food we've sent.
We looked like a neighbourhood stall setup to showcase their products at an international fair amongst giants and MNCs. Some had very nicely drawn up posters. Some had TV screens. Many were international.
Then we realised, we are a neighbourhood outlet! Based in Kota Kemuning, out of the same small shoplot since we started 9 year ago. Nothing grand about us. Neither the looks, products, aid given and even our dressing. We did not have the fancy vests with multiple badges.
Then we heard people saying our name in whispers. Our neighbour even took some people over to take a look at our samples.
"Mereka ni sudah hantar banyak makanan kesana"
We don't know la, nak malu ke, atau nak bangga.
What we do know, is that we proudly told whoever that asked, with the support of the community, we are still here.
We only know that we've done what we could, to the best of our ability.
Now, we just focus on the road ahead. There are so many #SantapanHeroMeals that need to be done. A shipment to 🍉 by August. A whole ton left to be done in preparation for floods. Families we've promised to help in the weeks to come.
We don't know how we're going to do it, except to just try. We've been trying for 9 years now. And we will keep doing so.
Know that your purchases support these initiatives. And we hope we made you guys proud.
